Yazmin has lived a life of music from day one, having grown up with musician parents. Her latest album The Nautilus (coming July 6, 2018) was recorded in Havana, Cuba with producers she met while living and studying music there. Over the years, Cuban music has played a big roll in her life. She spent over a decade studying Latin piano with master in the field Rebeca Mauleón-Santana, among others, and while in Havana studied at the highly esteemed Instituto Superior de Arte. Whether pounding out Cuban tumbaos or singing a soft, heart-wrenching ballad, Yazmin's music comes straight from the soul. Her newest album The Nautilus highlights her very unique Folk-Rock sound with a mix of Latin influences. It tells a love story from beginning to end and takes the listener on a journey through every phase of one woman's experience: Before, Falling, Distance, Broken, Healing, and After. It is all at once empowering and deeply vulnerable. The raw, human emotion of her songs is transmitted through her powerful stage presence and stellar band.
T Bruce was born in San Antonio Texas, and started playing in 1965. He has been playing professionally since 1968. He has written over 20 film and television scores. Five of his scores have won awards, including “Beneath the North Atlantic,” which was nominated for an Emmy. Bruce has performed with well-known musicians of many different styles, including the main stage at the Winnipeg Folk Festival with Queen Ida. He has also performed with Taj Mahal, the Dixie Dregs, Ed Bruce, Prudence Johnson, and Pat Donahue. Bruce is a founding member of the Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua Blue Canvas Orchestra. He was bandleader from 1988 to 1994, and has been active in the creation of the style and quality of the Blue Canvas Orchestra since the beginning.
Before moving to Washburn, Wisconsin in 1991 to join LSBTC and the BCO full time, he was an active musician and recording engineer in the San Francisco Bay Area. During his years in the Bay Area he was also a project managing electronics design engineer at Sequential Circuits, world leading synthesizer manufacturer of the Prophet 5. During his three years at Sequential Circuits he directed the release of the world’s first computer controlled audio effects system, the ProFX.
