The Oak Center General Store, built in 1913, was resurrected from the dead in 1976 and dedicated to rebuilding a better world from the earth up.

The store carries organic meat, produce, eggs, herbs, coffee and bulk items. In the Spring and Summer bedding plants and perennials are available, as well as a full line of gardening tools and homesteading supplies. Organic produce and is also available at the Rochester and Lake City Farmer’s Markets.

Unparalleled musical talent is offered through folk forum, a community outreach program of concerts and forum meetings, October through April.

Oak Center General Store is also home-base for Earthen Path Organic Farm, a 14-acre fruit, herb and vegetable farm, which provides part of the produce for our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program, in which shares are purchased and produce is picked up weekly (deliveries are also available).

We are located on Highway 63, 10 miles South of Lake City; or 25 miles north of Rochester. We are Open 9 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday and some Sundays – Just call.

All of our produce is 100 percent free of synthetic chemicals and is grown in an ecologically sustainable manner.

We place great importance on the human ecology by utilizing cooperative principles, friendly technology and appropriate scale for our farms. We know each other personally and retain a sincere commitment to healthy food and a healthy earth. This assures that you will receive the best quality foods and a better world in which to live.
